Scott Oliver's journey through the musical realm began in the heart of Chicago, Illinois. Born with a natural inclination towards music, Scott's early exposure to the world of performance came through his father, a renowned Saxophone player in his own right. At the tender age of four, Scott eagerly embarked on his musical odyssey, delving into the intricacies of the piano.
As a prodigious talent, Scott's abilities extended beyond playing instruments. His gift for directing choirs surfaced early on, a skill that would become a defining aspect of his illustrious career. From ages 10 to 16, Scott expanded his repertoire, mastering the Clarinet, Alto, and Baritone Saxophone. His formative years were marked by diligent practice and performances in both church bands and high school ensembles.
By the age of 18, Scott was entrusted with the responsibility of directing and leading choirs in his church—an affirmation of his exceptional musical prowess. His journey continued at Western Illinois, where he became a musician for the Echoes of Grace Choir and the Heritage Ensemble. In 1989, North Central College in Naperville, Illinois recognized Scott's talents, appointing him as the first Musician and Vocal Trainer for the newly formed Naperville Christian Contemporary Gospel Choir.
Scott's impact on the Chicago music scene deepened in 1990 when he assumed the roles of Organist and Vocal Trainer for various groups and churches. The Moody Bible Institute welcomed him in 1992, where he became one of the pioneering Musicians and Vocal Trainers for the Moody Gospel Choir. In 1995, Scott took the helm as the Musician and Vocal Trainer for Reba Church in Evanston, Illinois, leading the newly formed group, Reba Praise, to record a self-titled CD within two years.
The trajectory of Scott's career took a decisive turn in 1997 when he became the Organist and Vocal Trainer for "Michael Ford and New Joy." Tasked with composing a self-titled Live CD project, Scott's creativity and musical prowess flourished. In 2006, he established his production company, "Solover Music," specializing in Jazz and Gospel Music production, and providing training and development for singers and musicians.
In 2012, a significant chapter unfolded as Scott partnered with William Wilson, the owner of Pathway Records, to form the "Touch Music Group" (TMG). This collaboration aimed to create a music label dedicated to producing exceptional music for global audiences. Scott, along with William Wilson, assumed key roles in writing, arranging, composing, and co-producing for TMG's entire roster, contributing more than 80% of the label's distributed music.
The ethos of TMG reflects Scott's deep-seated desire to serve people through music, transcending boundaries and beliefs. The label seeks to touch and grow the hearts of listeners worldwide, fostering joy and celebrating salvation, truth, and positivity through inspirational music and lyrics. With a commitment to teaching, growing, and enhancing the artistic potential of every individual associated with the label, Scott Oliver continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of music.
